3. Gestational diabetes
Gestational diabetes is a form of diabetes that occurs in the first three months of pregnancy. It’s caused by hormonal changes during pregnancy, and the symptoms are similar to type 2 diabetes but usually milder.
If you have gestational diabetes, your blood glucose level will be higher than normal throughout pregnancy and sometimes after delivery (when you give birth). In most cases, people with gestational diabetes can control their condition with diet and exercise alone. But if left untreated over time it can lead to serious complications such as heart disease or kidney disease later on in life when your body isn’t able to handle high levels of sugar in its bloodstreams properly anymore due to how much damage has been done already during this stage.”
The symptoms of type 2 diabetes often develop slowly. You can have type 2 diabetes for years and not know it.
